HoneyBook or SoloBase? Start from where you are.

HoneyBook is a back-office tool for running a service business. SoloBase is a Studio under your own name: your front door, a private Client Hub for each client, and money into your own Stripe. The better fit depends on your stage, not on a feature list.

Which one are you?

Three people who could be reading this.

You just went out on your own

You left an agency or a firm, and your first clients are people who already know your work. Before any system, they need a place to find you under your own name.

Referrals are outgrowing your inbox

Word of mouth is working, and each new client means another thread, another shared folder, another payment link. You want one place per client more than you want a system.

Your back office is already set up

It runs your week and you like it. You are here to see whether anything is missing around it, not to move.

What SoloBase does

Headquarters for a company of one.

Most of your work comes from people who were told your name. A Studio is built around you and each client they become.

Live

A front door under your own name

When a referral looks you up, they find your card and the Studio Site behind it: what you do, whether you are taking clients, and one way to start. Your own domain on Pro.

Live

From inquiry to paid

An inquiry from your card lands in your Requests. You accept it and send a proposal in their Client Hub; they sign by typing their name and pay the deposit, and numbered invoices follow.

Live

A Client Hub per client that outlives the project

The brief, your notes, the files and each question, attached to the note it is about, in a private Client Hub only you and your client can open.

Live

Money into your own Stripe, at 0%

Deposits, invoices and paid access go from your client straight to your own Stripe account, and SoloBase never holds the money.

Honestly

When HoneyBook fits you better.

It comes down to the stage you are at and the shape of your work.

Your back office works as it is

If a back-office tool already carries your week and you are not looking to change it, keep it.

A team runs the business with you

SoloBase is built around one person who is accountable for each client, with a small team beside them. A business run by many people together is a different shape.

Your follow-ups run on a schedule

If scheduled invoices and automated follow-ups are how your week runs, a tool for running a service business is built for that.

HoneyBook or SoloBase, answered.

Can I use both?

Yes. Some people keep the tool that runs their back office and add a Studio as the door a referral walks through and the Client Hub the work lives in.

How does a new client start with me?

They send an inquiry from your card, and you accept it. Then you send a proposal in their Client Hub: they sign by typing their name and pay the deposit to your own Stripe.

Does SoloBase do proposals and e-signature?

Yes. You send the scope and price in your client’s Client Hub, they sign by typing their name, and the deposit goes to your own Stripe. The signed proposal is kept as a PDF. For a contract your lawyer drafted, keep the tool you use for it.

Does SoloBase take a cut of what my clients pay?

No. 0% on every plan. Money goes straight to your own Stripe account; Stripe’s standard processing fees apply.

What is live today?

Live: the card and Studio Site, the Content Hub, Client Hubs, proposals with e-signature and a deposit, numbered invoices, Community Hubs with channels and support, payments to your own Stripe, calls for up to 25 people, and booking at your open times.

Are you affiliated with HoneyBook?

No. Product names are trademarks of their owners.

Start with the door. Add the rest when you need it.

Make your card in a minute. It is free until you have earned $1,000 through SoloBase.
