For brand and web designers
Scope the brief. Keep every round in one Client Hub.
A referral asks for a logo, a site, a new kitchen. Before you can quote it you need the brief: what the business is, who it is for, what they have tried. Then come the concept rounds, and the feedback arrives by email, by text, on a call you took notes on. Your Studio gives the project a front door under your name, and a private Client Hub where every round and every comment stays.

Before the final files
Where a design project wanders.
01
The brief is half a sentence.
“We need a new logo, something modern.” The real brief takes three calls and a mood board to find.
02
The inputs arrive in pieces.
The old logo in an attachment, the floor plan in a text, the fonts they like in a screenshot.
03
Feedback comes back vague.
“Can it pop more?” in an email, about a draft you have already changed, without a word about which part.
04
Round three forgets round one.
Why the navy went and the serif stayed is in a thread from three weeks ago, and the client no longer remembers agreeing.
How your Studio answers it
From the first brief to the last round, under your name.
A card that shows what you take on
Your name, your discipline, your city, and whether you are taking projects. A referral knows in a few seconds whether to write.
The brief arrives in a Client Hub
The button on your card asks what they need and when. You accept, their answers become the Client Hub’s first note in their own words, and the scope builds from there.
Feedback on the note
Write each round’s rationale as a note. A comment attaches to the note it is about, so “why this typeface?” sits next to the rationale that answers it.
Files beside the note
The brand guidelines, the floor plan, this round’s draft: in the Client Hub, next to the note they belong to, not in an attachment from March.
The proposal, paid to start
Answer the brief with the scope, the price, the timing and the deposit. Your client signs by typing their name and pays the deposit straight into your own Stripe account. SoloBase takes 0%.
Review calls
Call your client inside the Client Hub, with this round beside you and your screen shared.
An illustrative example
Theo keeps a brand project in one Client Hub.
Theo Grant is a brand designer in Portland. A café owner he worked with passes his name to Ana, who is opening Fieldhouse Coffee in the spring. Ana opens his card, sees he is taking projects, and sends the brief through the button on it. Theo accepts, and it becomes a Client Hub only the two of them can open.
Ana’s answers are the Hub’s first note, and Theo’s scoping questions sit under them
Theo answers with his price in the Hub, next to the brief it answers
Each concept round is a note, with its files beside it
Ana’s comment on the typeface attaches to that round’s note, not to an email
What you keep using
What stays where it is.
Your Studio is the front door under your name, a Client Hub for each client that outlives the project, and money paid into your own Stripe at 0%. The tools you use for other jobs keep them.
| You use | Keep it for | Your Studio adds |
|---|---|---|
| Figma, Adobe or your design software | Making the work | One place where the round, the reasons and the client’s comments sit together |
| Everything outside the project | The project’s conversation, out of the inbox and into its Client Hub | |
| The tool you use for contracts | Contracts your lawyer drafted | The card a referral finds, the brief in writing, and one Client Hub for every round |

Designers ask
Can clients comment on the image itself?
Not on the pixels. A comment attaches to a note, so write each round’s notes in the Client Hub and put the file beside them. Your client’s comment lands on the note it is about.
Can I send a proposal from SoloBase?
Yes. You send the scope, the price, the timing and the deposit in the client’s Client Hub; they sign by typing their name and pay the deposit to your own Stripe. For a contract your lawyer drafted, keep the tool you use for it.
Can I share the final files here?
You can share files in the Client Hub, within your plan’s storage: 2 GB on Free, 50 GB on Pro, 250 GB on the Studio plan. For large final packages, keep the delivery tool you use today.
Who can see the Client Hub?
You and your client: a Client Hub opened when you accept an inquiry holds the two of you. When the client’s cofounder, or the developer who builds what you design, belongs in the work, invite them into the same Client Hub. Neither kind ever appears on your site or in search.
How many clients can I run at once?
The free plan includes one private Client Hub. Pro, $29 a month, includes unlimited Client Hubs and your own domain; paid plans open with billing, which is not live yet.
